| Kind of a dumb question, but I'm wondering where you guys research / buy your case fans. I've done a lot of looking on NewEgg, and FrozenCPU, but there are so few parallels that it's quite evident to me that every site is almost going to be entirely different. Anyway, I'm doing fan research again and I was wondering if you guys had some good sites for me ^^. Thanks. | ||||||||||||||

| I'm particular about my fans, and typically only use one from the following list of companies: Panaflo Arctic Cooling Noctua Silverstone Pabst Antec I personally think Panaflo is the best of the bunch, although I've become a huge fan of the Arctic Cooling liquid bearing fans. When it comes to ANTEC, I really like their Tri-Cool fans and their 200mm fan is perfect for case modding INTEL QX9650 ASUS Maximus Extreme 4GB DDR3-1600 Sapphire HD 3870X2 Danger Den Torture Rack (Custom W/C) Seagate 750GB HDD BFG ES 800W PSU | ||||||||||||||

| I like the Yate Loons because they are cheap and quiet and perform quite well for the money. I get them at Petra's Tech Shop. If you don't care about noise and performance is the main concern, these Sanyo Denki San Ace are great, but they are a bit wider. I personally think the Noctua's are overpriced... $20 a pop?! | Well, not to club the corpse (for I've already made an old post about it), but my interests are geared towards replacing my ol' fans with better ones (never really got around to doing it yet). Planning on hooking them to a fan controller to keep the noise down. Noise isn't a problem, but I'd like a reasonable ratio of noise / airflow. Don't want them to simply be loud and suck. Hoping I'd find some good ones that had at least 100cfm. I figure that I can just turn them down if I don't want that much. The controller I had in mind has 7 ports and I have to keep the wattage under 70 total ("recommended"). That's pretty much where I'm at. | ||||||||||||||

| The San Ace ones are at about 100CFM, but they will cost you. Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 | DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL | 2GB G.Skill 800MHz | EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB | Silverstone Decathlon 650W | Western Digital 250GB SATA II | ||||||||||||||

| Sure. 3x 120mm 3x 92mm. Edit: I think that at the very best, 2 of the 120's will need to be 25mm thick. Last edited by NoctisReitop; November 29th, 2007 at 14:34. | ||||||||||||||

| Without any regards to noise, I'd get: 3x Vantec Tornado (92mm) 3x San Ace (120mm) For something more economical, I'd get: 3x Panaflow (92mm) 3x Yate Loon (120mm) Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 | DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL | 2GB G.Skill 800MHz | EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB | Silverstone Decathlon 650W | Western Digital 250GB SATA II | ||||||||||||||

| Just wondering; I calculate this fan's movement of air to be 143.5464983 cfm. Am I correct? Also, is this fan as good as it looks. 1.08 watt input, 143 cfm, 19.8 dba, 6 year warranty? That sounds too good to be true! Last edited by NoctisReitop; November 29th, 2007 at 15:06. | ||||||||||||||

| 143CFM can't be right... especially at 20dB! Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 | DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL | 2GB G.Skill 800MHz | EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB | Silverstone Decathlon 650W | Western Digital 250GB SATA II | ||||||||||||||
