Default VF-900 purchase

VF900-Cu-.Zalman VF900-Cu Copper Heatpipes VGA Cooler-Central Computer Systems Inc.

I just bought this a couple days ago. Later this week I should get it and have it installed on my GeForce 7900GT! I'll report back with the Idle and Load temp differences.

HL has a review on one: Zalman VF900-Cu VGA Cooler Review

It's very good but kind of loud.

only on full blast
tab it down just a tiny bit and it gets a lot quieter without sacrificing but a few degrees

Yeah I saw the review. I currently run at about 50*C @ idle and I have hit as high as 67*C while gaming but I haven't ran a stress test on it yet. I suspect running it all out on BF2142 for an hour (like I did) would get it close to max load temp...

All that is with the cooler that came with the vid card. I'll run some actual tests on it before I throw on the new VF900...

Yea... fans are alot like children, if you give them less juice they aren't as loud or move as fast.

When you get ready to stress it, a really good program is RTHDRIBL (Real-Time High Dynamic Range Image-Based Lighting). Gets your videocard cooking very quickly, and it's a small download.
