Default Thermaltake iXoft Notebook Cooler Review

Click the image to open in full size.

With notebooks gaining popularity by the day, both as desktop replacements for those with limited space, and for the professionals on the go, notebook cooling solutions have become a fairly major focus of cooling companies such as Thermaltake, Antec, and Cooler Master.

Most of us who travel, or use the notebook away from our desk or table tend to position the notebook on our laps (hence they are also referred to as "laptops"). Although the current generation of notebooks run both cooler and use less power, several studies have been published pointing out the dangers of positioning the notebook on your lap. While some point out the chance of developing testicular cancer (in men.....duh), most studies suggest notebooks can cause sterility by raising the temperature of their testes, as well as the unnatural posture most assume to use the notebook on their lap.

Although as I look around and think killing some people's little swimmers might be a public service, its not my place to selectively recommend people using or not using some sort of cooler or protection for their notebook....or groin.

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Great review! I was kind of startled to see that the pad actually worked as advertised. No offense Pete, but I had my reservations about this product to be honest. ;)
