Default Silver barbs?

Now for those that don't know, silver is a natural biocide. Some people have silver water blocks and can run there system for years on plain distilled water (no additives) and never have a problem.

But the problem is silver is expensive. I personally don't have the money for a silver water block. So, the next best thing is silver barbs.

Has anyone seen any for sale anywhere? Is this even a viable idea?

I don't think they make such a thing. If you can contact a machine shop you could possibly get them made but they would probably be expensive still.

Yeah, I thought about it overnight, and it might be easier to steal some of my mom's silver jewelry and stick it in my res...

LOL good going. Pick a few silver earrings that have a nice purity and drop them in your res.

Yeah, and silver doesn't rust, right?

if i remember my chem 101 the main component of water additive is ethylene glycol which combine with Silver[Ag+] will form precipitate or mold-like particle which will be very detrimental to your H2O loop specially to your pump motor...

That's why you would use the silver without the additive. One or the other.

i dont see the point here where you just put it as a block of silver in the Res or a some sort of Silver Fluid running in the loop with H2O? just like this one:
Colloidal Silver - Aquasafe's Colloidal Silver plus water filters & purifiers, colloidal minerals and colloidal silver.
