Default Scythe's "Prototype" Coolers

Found THIS picture on the Scythe website and thought it would be interesting to share. From what I can see in that picture it looks like they are planning an all copper version of the Ninja and Shogun as well as a couple new designs that like very much like Silverstone's Nitrogon NT02 cooler.
Should be interesting to see some of the new cooling products of 2006. I'm suprised we haven't seen any leaked images of some socket AM2 cooler designs...

Word is....but don't quote me on this....that the new AM2 retention bracket is exactly the same as the 939 bracket....which hopefully means that the AM2 will allow usage of the current 939 coolers.

Everything I've seen shows a different bracket for AM2 with 4 screws instead of only two like on s939.
I'll see if I can find some links....

some of them look just like the ninja except in a copper version.

Having the same retention bracket will really save me some money.

hmmm, I was reading an article last night that showed the rention bracket being the same as the current 939.

Here, this is one thing I found at Tom's Hardware...

It also seems that they were able to just use a regular s939 heatsink on their AM2 system. So I would guess that it looks as though you should probably be able to still use s939 heatsinks that only clip into the stock retention bracket. Anything past that seems up in the air; guess we'll just have to wait and see.

It would be nice to use the same coolers but then again I kinda like the four screw setup too.. Seems like it will give a nice tight fit and make even contact with the core..

Well then dont try to retain it or the rention will kill ya.. This is one of the reasons I try not to retain too much stuff because I'd be all retained out..

Yeah, I'm liking the s939 offerings too. There is a nice range of products available (except Semrons) and they perform well.
If I upgrade, it will very possibly be to Intel since I have yet to build an Intel rig yet. And Conroe is looking more and more promising every day! :D
