Default Science lab project

I think the posts about this got deleted when the forum was down so I thought I'd catch up on them.

I'm building a system with watercooling for the Science Lab at my kids school. Yes I'm bringing it home when they are done.

I was able to do this because I had an Intel D915gux that was about to become garden art and I had a bunch of water cooling things that Rich had sent me. Some I used on my system and some I didn't. I decided to put it all to good use for the School.

I had a 2.8ghz prescott that always ran hot anyway and a half gig of DDR2 533 Corsair. So along with that Enermax $20 case from last week, the system is ready for them to teach some heat disapation principals.

I put in a MPC655 pump and a dual 80 radiator with 2 80mm fans. and I converted a DD GPU block to a CPU block and made my own mounting bracket for it. Lool close and you may be able to see it.

I spoke to the 6,7, 8th science teachers and they are both very interested. They start teaching conduciton.....convection....and all those cons in 6th grade so it will fit in nicely. They have temp probes and are going to have the kids graph the temps under different conditions......low fan........no fan.........no pump...oh nooooooooo!!! my PResCotT!!!!! I will spend a little time explaining to them why we watercool and overclocking. So maybe I will be urging along the future overclockers of america LOL.

The pictures aren't too good cause i'm tired and it is was a long day doing this but I had a great time. Enjoy!!!

Yes those are cable ties on the radiator and pump. I didnt want to do anything very permanent cause I've decided this case is good enough to use for a computer for my daughter when it is done at school.

This was in bios with both 80mm fans running. Not bad considering it use to be 58 in the bios with the stock cooler. They can adjust the fan control and watch and record the temps.

I think I'm hooked on this water cooling stuff. YEOOOW it is Fun!!

I figured the teachers will be looking for things to do when the snow is flying and they can't get outside or on field trips.

Cool project. That's awesome of you to go to the school and do that. I know I would have been mystified to see something like that in elementary school!

I put it all together with the the replacement pump and the pump made so much noise I had to rip it out and call them again. I called DD also and told them if I got a third pump that rattled like hell I was gonna send them one in little pieces and buy a real pump.

So the short answer is I've got it all together except the pump. Should be getting the 3rd replacement soon.

OK.....I'm going back to my spaghetti sauce and wine. I'm having a hard time typing LOL>

I'll leak test it over night and then install it and finish it tomorrow or the next day.
