Default Pre-Assembled Water Cooling

Is it any good? Or worth the money? I've never tried water cooling and have been tossing around the idea of possibly trying it out. I was wondering if these pre-assembled kits are even worth looking at.

A pre-assembled kit that does decently well is the Thermaltake Bigwater, which is about the lowest rung on water cooling I can think of. Kits include models like this:
Newegg.com - Thermaltake CL-W0121 2U Drive Bay Water Cooling System - Retail

Cooler Master has a cheapo kit that works about the same as a Bigwater for a cheaper price. Expect about the same results as a high end air cooler with this.
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER RL-EUL-GBU1-GP Liquid Cooler supports Intel and AMD - Retail

Another good one is the Corsair Nautilus, which handles single and dual cores quite well. The only downside is the model is a few years old in design, and as such doesn't quite keep up with overclocks on quads such as the Quad Extremes.
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Nautilus 500 Complete External Liquid Cooling Sytem - Retail

The best kits I can think of are the Zalman Reserator series. The Reserator1 is in the same price bracket as the above mentioned kits and works as well if maybe a little better then the Nautilus
Newegg.com - ZALMAN RESERATOR 1 Fanless Water Cooling System (Reservoir+Radiator+Water Pump) - Retail
The new model, the Reserator2, is right up there with custom designed kits and can handle pretty much anything you want to throw at it; from processors to multi-GPU setups. The cost is much higher then the above mentioned kits, but the kit also outperforms them.
Newegg.com - ZALMAN ZM – Reserator2 Fanless water cooling system - Retail

As a general rule, building your own loop is generally the best route to go as far as expandability and cooling is concerned, but if your just looking to dabble a bit and cool the processor any of the above kits would do fine with my suggestion going towards the Reserator1.

I honestly think you'd be disappointed with any of those solutions. The only water cooling units that are worth the effort are all too expensive for that system you currently have.

Daniel made mention that the best choice is building your own look, and I'd agree, if you wanted to do some heavy duty overclocking......but lets be reasonable on this......For what a good water cooling loop is going to set you back, you could get a top of the line dual core or a midrange quad core thats 1000X better than what you currently have.

For instance, for that $400 that new cooling kit will cost, you could invest in a Q6600 or an E6850 processor ($250 or so), a 4GB kit of DDR2, and a good HSF (CNPS9700, etc)....and still have some money left over to put toward a nice new motherboard (If you plan on overclocking, grab an INTEL P35 based board).

I guess I did forget to mention what system this is going in. It's definitely not the one in my sig. That one is just temporary until(if ever) I get my board back from Asus. The system specs for the kit I want to water cool are as follows.

OCZ 4GB Platinum PC-6400
EVGA 8800GT 512MB SC
Maximus Formula-X38
E8400
Antec 900 Case
OCZ GameXstream 600w PS
Vista Ultimate x64

AS for a budget, I dont really have a set one. I'm a patient person and am willing to wait a little bit if necessary to get everything

In that case I would agree with Daniel and say a custom kit is best. That's the way the DM2008 is cooled, and that's how I'm gonna build my ultimate rig!

You might want to look at a Swiftech kit. They are good quality, and allow you to mount the radiator externally to save room. The only drawback is that they have arguably the worst directions in the world....which means you'll have to take your time and be extremely patient.
