| I need to purchase a 120mm rear case fan. I need the fan to be quiet, but move a lot of air. Price isn't important. I need the fan to be quiet enough so I can watch TV and not be disturbed by the computer. Basically I don't want a fan that sounds like a jet engine. Any suggestions? | I have a Silverstone, can't remember the exact model, but it comes with a fan bus controller. Even at full speed it's not very loud. I'll try and find a link for it. Here it is: FM121. | Yate Loon or Nexus. Yate Loon 120mm Silent Case Fan - D12SL-12 - Sleeved Products Model: D12SL-12 [D12SL-12] : Performance-PCs.com, ... sleeve it and they will come Once you use a Yate Loon you'll wonder why you ever used any other fan :D There are tons of places to buy em online. If you can't find a place, try a Panaflo. They are dirt cheap as well! If you have other fan slots, I recommend replacing them with these... ![]() I Like Watercooling. | Modder-ator | In addition to the fans already listed, the Scythe S-Flex fans look pretty decent. Also check out the Arctic Cooling or the Panaflo Ultra Quiet series fans. Last edited by gvblake22; February 11th, 2007 at 18:10. |

| One of the best fans for exhaust or WC radiators is the Sanyo Denki 109R1212H1011, 120x120x38mm fan and variants. It can do over 100 CFM at full speed and puts out plenty at 7.5V and below where it is totall unobtrusive to most down to 5V. The Delta tri-blade fans also push a lot while being low-noise. The Yate Loons are good too, but max out at a bit under 50 CFM - granted that's plenty for most. One company I found (wwwDotPetrasTechShopDotCom) has had the Yate Loon medium speed fan in the past. That would probably be better for an exhaust fan that you can kick up a notch if it starts getting hot in there. .bh. |
