Default Looking for a good, quiet LGA775 HSF

I desperatly need to get a quieter, yet effective cooling solution for the LGA775 P4 that's in my wife's computer. The stock fan is way too loud. Here are some that I've found, but I don't know what to get. Can anyone help?

Enzotech Ultra-X Silent CPU Cooler

AeroCool Dominator CPU Cooler - w/ 140mm Fan

Sunbeam Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler

Zalman CNPS 9500 LED Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler

Quiet CPU Coolers :: Quiet Cooling :: HeatsinkFactory.com (main page for the quiet CPU coolers, if you think you could recommend anything else)

Tuniq Tower is by far the absolute best cooler on that list. You will find if you scrounge around the internet about air cooling, it is the king. Go for it.

The Zalman is very quiet, as well as very easy to install. The Tuniq is getting rave reviews. Another one to consider if you aren't going to be O/Cing it is the Scythe Mine, a very decent, and very quiet cooler

Indeed. I built a system for somebody with a Mine in it. It was extremely quiet.

No OC'ing on this one...My wife isn't down with the idea of overclocking stuff. She doesn't even know I've had mine overclocked for almost a year now! I'd never hear the end of it, LOL! So it's our secret, OK?

I was wondering about that Tuniq Tower, and if it would fit the case she has, but I suppose some measuring will determine that. That thing is huge! It almost looks larger than my Big Typhoon!

Edit= The Tuniq Tower lists it's height as 153mm. I measured her case for depth, and it comes in at about 200mm. Now, it's in her workstation so it will be hard to measure it exactly for depth from the socket on the mobo, but just estimating from the outside, I think this Tower would be a pretty tight fit, accounting for taking some mm off the 200 - between the edge of the case and where the socket actually is.

I have the Scythe Ninja which the specs say it is 150mm tall... as soon as the parts come in I will be using it on a E6400

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I use the CNPS9500 myself. The included fan speed controller does an excellent job of controlling noise. If you turn it all the way up, you can hear it. But if you aren't overclocking, you can turn the speed down and that sucker is nearly silent.

eah, Tyreal is right, the Tuniq Tower is the best of the original ones you posted; it has been getting great results in reviews. I would also suggest a look into the Thermalright Ultra 120, Thermaltake Big Typhoon, Thermalright SI-120, Scythe Ninja, Scythe Mine, Scythe Inifinity. There are some other nice coolers I would recommend, but these are the first ones that come to mind. Make sure you check out our cooler reviews on the front page, many of the ones mentioned have been reviewed here

Oh yea... I forgot to mention the Ultra 120. I would recommend either the Scythe infinity or Ultra 120 with a quiet fan like a sleeve bearing Yate Loon.
