| Quick question...... I think I am going to give up on the watercooling idea, because all the info and such is starting to make me feel sick.....Im at a point right now where I am having trouble sleeping at night, casue all I seem to think about is watercooling.... sick, I know... I have problems... but im gonna ask this question anyways.. if i were to just cool my GPU's, and I don't want to get overly complicated.... could I use the new Swiftech H20 220 Compact kit with the Dual rad to cool the gpus? I understand theres a CPU apogee pump there, but couldn't I just place that somewheres, or hide it, and it would work the same? It would be fine right??.... right?? Obviously im aware i need 2 gpu blocks, and i was wondering what the diff would be if I just purchased the single rad version for a lesser price, then bought a dual rad and fan, and i wonder what the price diff would be opposed to buying the dual rad version. The dual rad version does come with all the bells and whistles for looping the gpu's with fittings and such its on the swiftech home page if u want to look. thanks.. oh ya.... did i mention you guys are the GREATEST!!!!!!! | Just to help you sleep a little better, most people that I personally know that have had watercooling don't anymore, for whatever reason. Mostly because it sounded a lot more awesome than it actually was. I've had the bug a few times, and if I could actually set a rig up and not screw with it I'd have done liquid a long time ago. I guess that two or three months is the longest time I have gone without without pulling CPU, video card, or entire rig. It seems like it would really be a lot of trouble to refill, check for leaks, etc, that often. | ||||||||||||||

| Water cooling rules, this is coming from one of the old timers in the game.........;) You can't get the clocks I want on air and run it 24/7. Anyways, if you want to do just the GPU's, do it the way it's listed in my sig (except that you'll more than likely need a double 120 radiator with your cards), it'll work out just fine. | Watercooling is awesome. It's a lot of work to put it together the first time and you do have to take it apart every once in a while to clean or fill it up again but if your overclocking then it's worth the hassle. I suggest you do what killingfield said. Just make your own loop out of parts you bought seperately. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 | ||||||||||||||

| I love watercooling! Don't know where I'd be without it. You can really crank the volts and get a nice OC with good watercooling. I agree with Tyreal and KillingField, the only way to go is to piece together your own loop. It may take a little more research and work to put together, but you will really feel the performance gains in temps and OC's. | Just to even the sides a little here, I'm going to agree with Mr. Stroupe on this one. I've never had my hands on a watercooling system of any kind, but I really have no desire to. I can live with a few hundred MHz less clock speed for a few hundred dollars left unspent (or spent more effectively elsewhere). Plus the added headache of dealing with and maintaining a watercooling loop... EEESH, I hardly have the patience for a little fish tank, let alone watercooling... ![]() | ||||||||||||||

| I will admit that water cooling does take a bit of work to properly maintain and its not for everyone as not everyone has the time to spend on it. But in my case, time is all I have, so its not much of a issue................;). As for the cost, it is expensive that's for sure, but not like everything else in computers, 99% of it is a one time outlay of cash that will last you for years to come requiring only a block adapter to upgrade to the latest and greatest CPUs and GPUs. Cooling cost for upgrading GPUs over the past several generations of cards has been "ZERO" dollars ( from ATi 9800 til my current 8800GT)............;). That is if you plan and do things correctly. And on the other hand with air cooling, just about every brand change or model change requires a new cooler if you're into high-end cooling, silance and OC'ing.
