Default Icy Box 390 External HDD Enclosure Review

Tagan Technology was founded when a group of guys met at the 2001 Computex show held in Taipei, Taiwan. During the dinner party, they spoke of the perils encountered while using power supplies. This group got together and spent a year discussing, designing and developing reliable power supplies that would appeal to the masses. Most recently, Tagan has partnered with graphics giant, nVidia, in developing the Enthusiast System Architechture (ESA) system. Currently a successful and growing power supply manufacturer, Tagan has branched out into the computer case and hard drive enclosure markets. Their cases are branded as A+ Case while their hard drive enclosures use the Icy Box brand name.

The newest Icy Box to hit the streets is the IB-390StUS-B. This external hard drive enclosure includes a feature we have come to expect in all external drive cases that enter our lab, eSATA. What else does it bring to the table in order to stand out from the crowd? Let's find out as HardwareLogic reveals if the Icy Box really is a cool product.

Great Review! Seems like a nice enclosure. Esata is defiantly a must... I have a seagate freeagent pro hooked up to my computer with esata... it's nifty. Lets me use my external hard drive like my internals, since it turns off with the computer and such.

Thanks for writing this review!
