| I need some recommendations for a really good performing thermal paste. So far I have only used the stock Intel thermal pad. I have heard that the Arctic Silver 5 is good, but does anybody have any other recommendations? | T-Rex | Arctic Silver 5 is probably your best choice for CPU with integrated heatspreader. There's always Arctic Silver Lumiere or Céramique if you're too scared to use Arctic Silver 5 on your graphical processing unit. |

| Isn't some of Zalman's themal paste pretty good? Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 + Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL + Thermalright HR-05 IFX 2GB G.Skill 800MHz F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB Silverstone Decathlon 650W Western Digital 250GB SATA II |

| I'm Evil | Arctic Siver Ceramique is probably the best "all around",, shortest cure time, same temps as AS5, non-conductive, cheaper. AS5 is the best known, and most popular....fantastic stuff. Zalman's STG-Z1 is some very good stuff as well, very easy to apply, but not as good as the AS products. Zalman ZM-STG1 is very easy to apply, it's like painting nails... not that I paint my nails. However, it's not as good as Arctic Silver products like Capper said. There's no cure time though, so what you see is what you get. In the end, if you want the best performance for your CPU go with Arctic Silver 5. While alot of people will say thermal paste makes a huge difference I wouldn't say so. Most often than not it all depends in the way you apply it. If you compare Antec OEM thermal grease with Arctic Silver 5 I'd say you gain a maximum of 4-5 degrees celcius on a CPU, nothing to go crazy about. | |

| Like everyone else, I have used Arctic Silver 5 with fantastic results and highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a good thermal interface solution for their CPU and heatsink. I've never used the Céramique though, so I can't comment on that. |
