| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | [ig]GlacialTech describes themselves as "a total thermal solution provider ... committed to using lighter weight materials, lower noise and lower manufacturing cost to deliver superior cooling solutions." They are a global corporation that has offered cooling solutions for companies around the world, including the likes of Acer, LG, and BMW. While relatively unknown to the average enthusiast, they are trying to storm into the CPU cooling industry and offer solid third party cooling options for the Do-It-Yourselfers (DIYers).[/i] Matthew "Mad Baller" Page GlacialTech Igloo 5610 Silent and PWM Coolers Review |

| Colonel Calamity | great review! Surprising that the cooler does as well as it does over the stock Intel cooler. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Matt lives locally to me, and when I brought those coolers over to his palace, we both had very low expectations for these coolers. To say that they're 'light' is like saying Jokerswild is old - both would qualify as understatements of the year. |

| Dugg, and I have a question. Can you switch out the stock fan for a different one? It's just a regular 80mm fan, right? |

| Modder-ator | According to the fan details on the first page of the review, it's an 80x80x20 mm fan. It looks like it just screws to that metal shroud and should be easily replaced with some other 80mm fan. |

| Thanks Blake. That seems like an oddball fan width though, so you'll need new screws... no problem really, just pick them up at the hardware store. |

| Modder-ator | Yeah, there aren't too many fans that are only 20mm thick. And like you said, screws that can be used with fans can be had pretty easily at any hardware store. I usually just buy four screws long enough to go all the way through the fan (from one side to the other) and the just put a nut on the end of each one to secure it. |

| 5 Minute Mod Man | Yeah, in comparison, the fans are about the same size as standard 80mm case fan, but the case fans are just a tad thicker (as you have already determined). While most other fans are thicker, the included fans have more blades than the average case fan. The included screws have been checked against other 80mm fans and they are just NOT long enough to mount fans greater than 20mm in thickness on these HSFs. <announcer voice> In the case of the myth that any 80mm fan can be used on the GlacialTech Igloo 5610 series with the included screws... MYTH BUSTED </announcer voice> ![]() |
