| The 7800 GS idle temp is 46 deg. While running BF2 it reached 61 deg. Can someone compare these temps and tell me if they are normal? It shows that the slowdown temp to be 115 deg with no way of changing it. Even at 61 deg it showed to be in the caution range. | Yea, those temps are just fine. GPU's are generally more resistant to heat than Processors. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| I'm Diggin it! | The 7800GS in my AMD rig runs a tad warmer than yours at load. Like 63C. At idle it's around 41. The temps in my house could account for the differences though. 43 degree Celsius = 109.4 degree Fahrenheit 63 degree Celsius = 145.4 degree Fahrenheit 115 degree Celsius = 239 degree Fahrenheit As you can see, you are a long ways away from having anything to be worried about. ![]() Q6600@ 3.2GHz w/ CNPS9700 | EVGA 780i | 2Gb Corsair DDR2-800 | EVGA GTX 280 1Gb Video | 1x WD 640Gb HDD, 2x Seagate 400Gb HDD, 1x250Gb WD | 2x Samsung SH-203B Opticals | Antec 900 | ABS/Tagan BZ700 700W PSU |

| I used to get idle temps in the low to mid 50s on my 6800GT, and loads that went into the 70s with the stock cooler. My 7800GT (with the VF700cuLED and another 120mm fan pointed at it) will idle from 39 to 42C, and load as high as 67C, but a lot of times it will do 65 - depends on room temps. It's showing about 41C right now in Everest, with the room at 78F. I'm in agreement with those who said your temps are fine. If it's not fixed, then don't broke it! |
