Default Extreme Cooling Technologies

ECT has their website and support forums up again, after some modifications and improvements.
I've used the Prommie Mach II, and found it to be relatively easy to install and maintain......those of you who want some serious bragging rights should check out their line of coolers here

Used? I thought you owned that one, lol. It's a hellified cooler, that's for sure, but I can't wait to see what OCZ does with the CryoZ......even though it's a sealed system, the possible price tag of $275 has me drooling nonetheless, lol. Of course, when you get to the point of Phase Change, I would think that one would also couple that with a great W/C unit for cooling the NB, memory, and video card......well, at least the WC unit sounds like a good investment, lol

I'm waitng on a new part and going to buy a new mobo before I fire it up again. Was very nice running a 1GHz OC at subzero temps

say what?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? now's that is one HELL of an OC, lol.....and at sub-zero temps no less.....but I heard there was some risk in cooling a processor that cool, something about increasing the risk of electromigration and pin vibration due to the amount of voltage you feed to the CPU, but then again I could have gotten that one wrong.......set me straight "Oh Wise One"

Never had a problem with it. At about 1.6V (+/- .5) I could run my 3800+ at right around 3.0GHz.
When i fired up my Intel rig, that would easily O/C past 1GHz

nice, and I'm not saying that I'm not considering it either, lol

I just needed to be set straight so I would know if it's worth the cash.......I already know I want the CryoZ to get used to installing those types of coolers, and considering the price and cooling capacity it would be a recommended buy for anyone in the mid-end bracket IMO

Honestly. I like the Mach II.....but I'd recommend a Koolance Exos II with a full set of blocks, unless you go into this knowing what you are doing. One little bit of vondensation and your whole system is toast.
Another thing is you have to have good cooling for the rest of your components......but the tradeoff is the very best performance your CPU can provide.

But what about the trade-off of the complexity of installation of the Exos II compared to that of the Mach II?

yeah, I think I would be safer with the Exos 2 if I was going to that extent, primarily due to the fact I know nothing about Phase-Change, though I'm willing to experiment first, lol.......but only after I can accumulate parts I really consider excess, lol.

Well, the ECT Forums are a great place if you are interested in one of their coolers. Their staff is also incredibly nice and have always worked with me to solve problems or tweak my system
