| Hi, I've 8800GTS SLi and both clinged with 8800GTS Accetel EK Waterblocks running with FluidXP+ Ext under Reserator2. Eventhough temperature idles at 60*C ~ 64*C. Is there any thermal pad or any other thing that I should on top of video card backside to help reduce temperature a little more?? I'm not even overclocking them!! Any idea??? ================== ABIT IN9 32X MAX MotherBoard /\/\/ Intel E6600 2.4GHz Processor /\/\/ 2 x Kingston 1GB 800 DDR2 RAM /\/\/ 3 x Seagate 750GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive /\/\/ 2 x HP LightScribe Dual Layer DVDRW /\/\/ 2 x NVidia GeForce 8800GTS (SLi) Videocard /\/\/ CreativeLabs X-FI Fidel1ty XtremePro SoundCard Cooled By: Zalman Reserator 2 ==> Zalman ZM-WB3 GOLD ==> ThermalTake AquaBay M3 Reservoir ==> 2 x EK WaterBlocks 8800GTS Accetel blocks Powered By: BFG 1000W PSU. ===================== Last edited by shunail; March 20th, 2007 at 13:00. |

| I'm Diggin it! | What's your ambient room temp? What case do you have and what air cooling do you have for the case? The only two things I can think of is a lack of airflow through the case, which is still needed even though you're water-cooling, or a lack of sufficient radiator/water reservoir size. My 8800GTS, loaded using RTHDRIBL, set to x16 multisampling and 1600x1200, is only 71C. That's on air. It idles at 51C. Please make a signature with your system specs in it as required by our forum rules. | I'm Diggin it! | I'll ask again, what is your room temperature? I'm seriously thinking that perhaps you have the waterblock installed incorrectly. That Reserator should show a temperature of around 25C +/- 5C at full load from the air cooling solution. Are both cards running the same temps? Barring a bad waterblock install, try aiming a standard house fan at your rig with the side cover off. Then, try aiming the fan at your reserator2. If the temps drop with the first setup, then improve your case airflow. If it improves significantly while pointed at the Reserator2, you may have too much for that W/C system to handle. Other things to consider, did you lengthen the input/outlet waterlines at all? If your room temp is 85F+, then the Reserator is going to have a hard time keeping the temps down with 2x8800GTS's IMHO. | I think Quakindude is on the right track. Follow all of his instructions. Although, a E6600 and two 8800GTS would get pretty hot, 60 degrees is way too hot. | Do you temperatures instantly hit 60*C idle, or do they slowly climb to 60*C after a long cool off period? At least 100 watts for each card, and 90-100 Watts for the CPU. 300 Watts of heat can even be tough to active cooled radiators, you may just be going over the reserator's physical cooling ability. | Well, room temperature is mostly 72*F ~ 76*F. These EK waterblock are installed correctly and been clinged with card with thermal pads in between provided by manufacturer. I'm thinking either I switch to Koolance 8800GTS waterblocks or Swiftech Apogee for these cards and add a radiator w/ 120mm fan (mostl likely swiftech MCR120-QP) after video cards. Also placed a fan facing Reserator 2... lets see ================================================== ===== ABIT IN9 32X MAX MotherBoard /\/\/ Intel E6600 2.4GHz Processor /\/\/ 2 x Kingston 1GB 800 DDR2 RAM /\/\/ 3 x Seagate 750GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive /\/\/ 2 x HP LightScribe Dual Layer DVDRW /\/\/ 2 x NVidia GeForce 8800GTS (SLi) Videocard /\/\/ CreativeLabs X-FI Fidel1ty XtremePro SoundCard Cooled By: Zalman Reserator 2 ==> Eheim 1240 Pump ==> Zalman ZM-WB3 GOLD ==> ThermalTake AquaBay M3 Reservoir ==> 2 x EK WaterBlocks 8800GTS Accetel blocks Powered By: BFG 1000W PSU. ================================================== ===== Last edited by shunail; March 20th, 2007 at 18:50. |
