Default Evga's New 8800GT Cooler

Evga's redesigned their cooler for the 8800GT due to the inadequate reference design causing buttloads of heat buildup and high temps. The cooler will come on their new Akimbo (who names these things?) cards, and can also be bought here separately to mount on existing 8800GT's. For 40 scratch, it's not a bad deal for those who have already bought an 8800GT/GS (mounts on all models, not just Evga) considering good full cover aftermarket coolers like the VF1000 cost more especially with the special ramsinks for the 8000 series.

Did they just add a single heatpipe to distribute heat on the same heatsink or is that something that goes on the backside of the card?

According to eVGA's website, one will be clocked at 720mhz core, 1728mhz shader and 2ghz memory and will cost $289.99. the second model will be clocked at 600mhz core, 1500mhz shader and 1.8ghz memory and will cost $269.99. of course there will be price gouging with these new cards though
