Default Best Am2 Cooling

Can someone please tell me which is the best aircooling device for my rig, I already have 3 80mm case fans + an additional fan which came with the mobo and the cpu is running with the standard fan. I am asking this because my temps in idle mode are around 46C and under load almost 64C, all this under default speed. (2600mhz). Also the room temp is around 20-25C. If it is possible please recommend me something that will work with a overclock of 3.0GHz.

Thanks

Those temps do seem a little high. You could try remounting your HSF. Also what thermal grease are you using?

As far as the BEST HSF, from what I've read, you can't beat the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme paired with a decent fan (usually panaflo). This performance comes with a premium though. You can save about $15-20 if you settle for slightly higher temps with say the Tuniq Tower 120.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+@3.16Ghz 1.4v
Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3
Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 @904Mhz 5-5-5-15 2.2v
XFX 7900GS@550Mhz core 870Mhz memory
Corsair HX520 PSU
X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card
Cooler Master RC-690

I realy cant remember what thermal grease i am using but for sure it is not the best! Also will take a look at the Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme. Till now i had in mind the Zalman 9700??

Both the Zalman 9700 and the Thermalright are good coolers. My vote goes to the Thermalright, however, because I like how you can choose your own fan. That way you can make it as quiet/loud or as high/low performing as you want.

As for fans, I suggest Yate Loon fans for quietness and San Ace's for performance with no regards to noise.

Great, Zalman 9700 sounds like a good option, besides it is not to hard to find it in my country (Thermalright is not aviable).

What's the budget for the case?

Out of curiosity, what country do you live in?

And what do you want in a case? Do you want it to be quiet, pure performance with lots of noise, or some where in between? Do you care about looks? Etc, etc...

The case that comes to mind is the Antec 900... Very good cooling...

But there are many great suggestions on this thread also: What's your favorite case?
