Default WARNING: X1600 PRO Problem

I have recently purchased a Sapphire Radeon X1600 PRO to accompany my new PCI-E equipped, NF4 System. Sadly, I was confronted with a very frustrating problem.

After switching out the cooling to make sure it wasn't an overheating problem, stirping my system down to make sure my psu wasn't being over loaded, and installing several different drivers, i have come to the conclusion that this card is faulty.

Upon later inspection at the Sapphire Support Forum I found this thread:
http://www.sapphiretech.com/en/forum...=X1600+Problem

This thread describes the same problem.

Not for a long time will I be buying a Sapphire card. Their reputation just went down the drain in my eyes.

I will try and switch this card for a Geforce 6600 GT at Anitec but I don't know if they will let me.

Please Take note of this.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

I have a MSI 1600 Pro and I do not experience the same problem. I play CS 1.6 at 1950x1200 just fine.

Edit: I just opened up my case and I noticed that my video card is pretty hot. Could someone recommend me a hs for it? Thanks

It looks like the Zalman VF700-Cu is one of the only decent VGA coolers that will fit the X1600. There are probably others, but none are listed as compatable from what I can see. That Zalman VF700 is a good cooler, but not great. It is at least really quiet...
