Default Smart to replace themal compound on video card?

I just set up Overdrive (want a little extra boost) and I saw my temps hit 90C... It's not dreadful... I've seen worse.

Did anyone apply their IC Diamond 7 to their video cards with good results? I'd just be afraid to put on too much...

Like, would the RAM sinks need stuff too?

Put your $.02.

I used ic7 when I put the akimbo cooler on my 8800gt... but it's hard to say how big of difference it made, and how much of the difference was the cooler.

Well, I know just replacing the heatsink would be ever beneficial... I'm just cheap...

same, i put IC7 on my GTS now that it has the Accelero S1 on it. Lower temps, but again also dunno if its IC7 or the accelero. Wonder if i should pop open my GX2 when i get it and put IC7 on it.

A 9800GX2? Haha, yeah, I bet it'd kill the temps a bit.

Put ICD7 on my 8800GT. It's beneficial.
Though I never used the stock cooler (VF1000LED on the 8800) the thermal paste that is applied on them is usually horrible and that was the case with mine.
As for ram, most often it's thermal pads that are there, so replacing it with thermal paste would leave a gap and it's probably not a good idea to fill the gap with even more paste. I would leave the thermal pads there.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?
