| 5 Minute Mod Man | I DLed it and have been trying to get my load temp for my 7900GT before I put the new VF900 on it. @640x480 I get FPS usually between 120 and 150 depending on the other settings. I noticed full screen mode stays around 60fps. Is there something limiting the FPS? And will this change the temp outcome? Also, I run dual monitors, when I moved the rthdrible window to the other monitor, the fps (and temp) dropped significantly. Is that normal? I got it up to about 73*C last night running it for about 5 minutes. Idle temp is about 50*C. Other than last night I haven't seen the temps above 67. Anyway. Check out all the question marks above And please offer any hints that may help me. THANKS! Last edited by PrOLifIC_onE; February 11th, 2007 at 06:51. Reason: typos |

| Modder-ator | I've never run rthdribl on dual monitors, so I can't really comment on this. The only thing that might make me wonder is if the resolution of the two monitors was different. Are they both connected via DVI or DVI to VGA converted or a combination of the two? I don't see where you might think there is something limiting your FPS as they range from 150 to 60... Sometimes if you have V-Sync enabled it will sync your maximum FPS to your vertical refresh rate. |

| I usually see a drop of 2-6C just from cleaning the GPU and reapplying the TIM (AS5 preferably). usually what they have there is bad quality and not aplyed correctly. | 5 Minute Mod Man | Both are 1024x768, 32 bit and DVI-to-VGA adapters. Two different refresh rates though. One is set to 85 hertz and the other 75. I don't know how to check or disable V-sync. I guess this is what I want to know... Do I just start RTHDRIBL and let it run in its window for about 5 minutes? How do I know when I have this video card "loaded?" | I'm Diggin it! | I have a eVGA7950GT KO video card. Running it full screen(1600x1200), with everything at default settings and 4x multi-sample, I'm getting 40fps. My video card, with an ambient room temp of 24C, idles at 37C and loaded is 45C. The VF-900 helps tremendously. If I were to overclock my video card, which I'm currently not doing, I'm sure the temps would go up considerably. If you really want to max out your card, set multi-sampling to 16x. Then, resize the window to where you're getting 25-30fps. That will load your video card nicely. I did that at 1200x900 and the frame rate dropped to 23 and that is where I got the highest temp. Normally, when testing for temps, an hour is used as a loaded or idle time. However, I find that about 15 minutes gives roughly the same results...within a degree or two of an hour long run. ![]() Q6600@ 3.2GHz w/ CNPS9700 | EVGA 780i | 2Gb Corsair DDR2-800 | EVGA GTX 280 1Gb Video | 1x WD 640Gb HDD, 2x Seagate 400Gb HDD, 1x250Gb WD | 2x Samsung SH-203B Opticals | Antec 900 | ABS/Tagan BZ700 700W PSU Last edited by Quakindude; February 11th, 2007 at 08:06. |

| Modder-ator | Yeah, I agree with Quakindude. 15-30 minutes should do the trick to get your highest temperature. Think of it like playing games, you don't just play for 5 minutes at a time do you? ![]() |

| 5 Minute Mod Man | Not really. Itt is typical for most of the FPS game that I play to actually only play for 3-5 minutes then give the video card a short break between rounds when the geme shows the results screen... But even so, I guess people that play games like WOW don't get that same break. So, 15-30 minutes it is! |

| I'm Diggin it! | Any of the Quake games typically last less than 10 minutes per round, 5 minutes if it's 20 peeps on a small map. A lot of the Rocket Arena maps didn't go more than 5-10 minutes. UT2004 doesn't last either. When it comes to CTF, the rounds lasted longer, but TDM or out-right DM rounds won't last long at all.
