well, it pretty much smacked the **** out of the 8800GTX in almost all the games, with pre-drivers.

These new cards are just monsters! They are both simply crushing what we had thought of as boundaries in video games. I can't imagine what we'll see five years from now!

Exactly, that's why I don't want to see benchmarks, I want the card to come out so we can see what it will really be capable of!

Of course I probably worded that wrong, but nyah!! STOP ME IF YOU CAN BATMAN!

Nice marks for the R600. Now I'm not sure I'd call that a spanking, now if the R600 comes out at the same price as the 8800 or less than I would be happy but we will have to wait and see I guess.
No matter what though the 8800 and the R600 are way ahead of last gen cards and well me being the Oblivion whore I am ...........I'm grinning from ear to ear. Can't wait to see some more reviews on the R600!

I would take that info for a grain of salt. Wait until the card is in the hands of a reputable reviewer.

I am buying R600XT as soon as I can afford it/

Look at this crazyness...........WOW I didnt realize Oblivion was "THAT" taxing!!
Quote:
We tested Oblivion with activated TSSAA (nVidia) / AAA (ATI).
It is no wonder, that you need the most powerful graphics cards to play this game in any higher resolution with ultra-high AA settings - take a look at our frame rate graph and be surprised:
You can actually play Oblivion at 1600×1200 with ATI’s R600. The minimum frame rate for a “fluid” game experience is 25 fps, but we do recommend to use a pair of R600s or GeForce 8800GTXs to play at this resolution. Once again, note that we used TSSAA/AAA to maximize the impact on the graphics cards.
