The nForce 5 series NB has the die positioned diagonally like that too.

There must be some underlying engineering reasoning behind it.

I say it's for marketing. I can't beleive they just thought of that now, if it's for the reason they're giving.

LOL, I doubt it's for marketing. I think it's mostly to fit in the transistors in the right spots (which makes sense).
