Default Price war: nvidia vs AMD

DailyTech - AMD Silently Cuts Prices on Radeon 3800 Again

nvidia is already starting to look at price cuts for the 9X00 series cards and AMD is cutting prices of their own...

Thanks HL and Corsair!

that's why we need competition in all markets. i don't like having to pay $800 for the top of the line videocard!

But yes I agree, nVidia needs to make prices lower on a couple of things other wise there going to loose some business because of AMD.

a couple of years ago, $500 got you the top of the line gpu. last year, it sky rocketed to insanity, over $800 for the ultra when it first hit the streets. why? because there was no competition in the high end from the red team. now we're back down to $600 for the top card and that could go down further if AMD decides to lower their high end card.

Hey, when Intel breaks in with their new line up of higher end GPU offerings, things will really get competitive then! And prices will be really low!

Now all we gotta do is help Rich get on Intel's review list. These things are supposed to start coming out by the end of the year from Intel and we all know Intel and Rich hate each other.

I more then willing volunteer to self sacrifice as tester for Larrabee, even if it's just a GPCPU hybrid doohicker instead of something awesome.

With a description like GPCPU hybrid doohicker, isn't it awesome by default? I mean... doohicker.

It's about time the boys in green got a decent run for their money (our money? xD) again. Finally, WE win for the first time in quite awhile instead of being stuck under nvidia's thumb on pricing. There's much to be said for healthy competition.
