Default Intel Entering Gaming Video market

This was posted over at Rage3D, the link is below;

Jobs at Intel - Visual Computing

If you read between the lines it is clear Intel will be pushing for their own 3D higher end cards soon. Personally this is not a suprise to me. I have said for many years that Intel has one of the best R&D staffs in the business and they could decide to enter the market and be very competative right out of the gate.

This should be a good thing with a 3rd card maker hitting the market. Also consider if they bring the same fresh approach they did with the Core2 we could see nVidia and ATI playing catchup to Intel in one or generations.

Yep, that's been an ad of interest for a few months now. Intel has changed the wording for that job description about 3 times that I know of for sure.

They should do it... it wouldn't be that much more difficult for them.

Now, when Intel starts using their gaming cards for laptops, I'll start looking they're way even more.

- Core 2 Quad Q6600
- DFI Infinity 975X
- 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800
- 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM
- ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB
- Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W
- Acer 19" P191W Monitor
- Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution
- Vista Ultimate x64
