Default graphical power meets resolution...

HI, i have a q, im looking to get a 22" LCD TV which ill be using to enjoy hd quality halo 3 whilst using it for freeview and i want to use it for my pc screeen as well. now i believe it would have 1680x1050 display or something like that. basically what gpu should i be looking at i wanted to try this one

Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK

or this

following the advice from this reviw:
[H] Enthusiast - Gigabyte's Silent GeForce 8600 GT and 8600 GTS==

im just wondering do they have the power for such a task (displaying movies and videos on the 22" as most gaming shall be done on the 360) and is there connectors for them that converts the 2 x Dual Link DVI-I
HDTV ports to hdmi? and does pure video help?

PS, does any one know of any gud screens? lol and will they have remotes?

If at first you dont succeed...... try and try to get a refund

Default Re: graphical power meets resolution...

Actually the TV probably supports 720p/1080i ... which will be a 16:9 picture, and won't give you as high of a resolution as a PC monitor that does support 1680x1050 (which is a 16:10 picture). My HDTV supports a PC resolution of 1360x768.

Regardless, it should still look pretty good in both scenarios...although a little small for my taste with Halo 3.

However, either card should be able to handle displaying your PC, even playing HD content from the PC just fine. To connect the PC to the TV and keep the best picture you'll probably want to get a DVI -> HDMI cable if your TV has an HDMI input.
