That until DX10 comes... =P

Hmmm, this is interesting indeed. Can't say I think very highly of it though. So what if it is supposed to play every game available in the next century. I don't think I would ever spend $18,000 on computer hardware over the course of 100 years, let alone if I even live to see 100!!!

Let alone the new shaders revisions we see once in a year now, and all that. In no time this 18K brick will be nothing but an beefy dinosaur. Very beefy, but still a dino.

Good call polo, I didn't think about that either. That would be just as much of an issue (if not more) than cost and sheer rediculousness. While the hardware always outpaces software, shader technology and such still advances quite a lot.

Hell, just think about where computers were 100 years ago... UMM, oh, they weren't!

I don't want to be a party breaker, but hum... I don't think that is worth 17.5K.
I mean, a Quadro FX 5500 SDI is worth around $6200. Put 2 or those, add a 520W PSU with enough AMPs and you're more than $4000 short of 17.5K. Sure, they got some nifty bridge thing in there which is probably not worth more than any other SLI bridge that only Nvidia can acquire/make/whatev, but yeah, ripoff.
Oh yeah, that was for making a "high model" version, because for $17 500 you get the crappy one with 2 Quadro FX 5500 worth $2200 each instead of $6200... @__@

I agree with polobunny. Besides, there's no reason to buy that thing - not even for an industrial animated film, IMHO. Are they expecting people to be playing Oblivion at 1280000000000x80000000000 on a 40' film screen or something?? WTF?
