| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Gigabyte 8600GTS Silent Pipe III Videocard Review "While most of us wait.....and wait.....and continue to wait for DirectX 10 games to arrive, NVIDIA continues to saturate the market with videocards covering every price range supporting the highly anticipated graphics platform. As AMD/ATI struggle to find their way with their much hyped R600 arriving to little fanfare, NVIDIA has released their mainstream and budget graphics solutions in the form of the 8500GT, 8600GT, and 8600GTS." - Rich Caporali Read More... |

| I would have liked to seen some direct comparisions against comparably priced cards to get a feel for the performance. I am curious if building a new system and wanting a video card for say $200 was the 8600GTS worth considering over say an X1950Pro for the advantage of DX10? If the speeds where near equal the answer be an obvious yes. |

| I understand what you mean. I am looking at this type of card for some machines and am wondering if it is worth getting or do the same priced DX9 parts beat it enough to not make DX10 an issue? |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | If DX10 and Pure Video HD aren't considerations, then there are better performers out there for the money, namely the X1950 Pro. |

| for a couple more dollars you can get the 8800gts so why bother with this card, unless your really tight on budget... none the less its a great review...
