Question Fitting a VGA-shaped peg into a DVI-shaped hole?

Hi guys, I've been considering obtaining this fine example of a great value graphics card -

DabsValue NVIDIA GeForce 7950 GT 512MB DDR3 PCI-E 2xDVI (I-7950GT-H5GTCS)

But as its a DVI only connection and my monitor uses VGA, I was wondering whether using a VGA-DVI connecter wil have any negative effects when gaming, watching videos, etc?

Pentium 4 2.8GHz (FSB 533)

Lite-On CD-RW/DVD-ROM LTC-48161H
Sony DVD-RW DRU-800A
Sumvision 550W PSU
Creative i-Trigue 3330 2.1 Speakers
Samsung SyncMaster 913n 19" LCD Monitor

Should not if your monitor comes with a quality cable. The difference between DVI and VGA are really really small anyway, unlike in the past. Unless you are a professional photographer, you probably won't notice a difference. Also there's no speed issue whatsover and no "blur" induced unlike some people might tell you.

No issues at all. And the card should come with adapters too. I've never heard of Dabsvalue before though.

Me neither, but my experience with Great Britain is somewhat limited. :P

Dabs.com Is a very good UK computer components eTailer, in fact its where I intend to buy all of the components my new build from, a little like newegg.com I suppose.

From what I gather, Dabsvalue is just a line of products that Dabs have selected from they're range of suppliers to sell at marked down prices. I've compared the card to others that are priced in excess of £200 and it seems that it has the same specifications. I looked at the specs and the price and thought "why pay more?"

The nicest thing about the whole situation: you won't have to consider a different video card if you upgrade to a monitor that utilizes the DVI connector. VGA should be fine for you now, but your future upgrades are not going to be limited.

I run an analog VGA monitor on a dual Dual-Link DVI card (X1950 Pro) using a DVI to VGA adapter without any problems at all.
