Default The final piece

Ok my astute brethern, I'm looking to make a decision on my last piece of the puzzle-THE VIDEO CARD!!!! Taking 14u2c's suggestion, it will be a Geforce 7800, the question is wether it will be the GT or GS. Can you'all help work through the differences?

You can't use a GS Edition, those are for AGP base boards.
I'd actually recommend either the eVGA or XFX 7900GT. But if you are set on the 7800GT, I'd recommend XFX....I've been using a pair of those for the past 6 months and love them. XFX has the double lifetime warranty, and their cards include a great bundle of games

How would a single 7900 compare against 2 7800's?

If you can wait until Monday (hint, hint) You'll find out as we review the eVGA 7900GTX.... just for you, I'll put it up against a pair of 7800GTs in SLI

w00T! This should be a good review :D

I've never been the kind of person to drop 1000 dollars on top of line components but its always interesting to see how they perform.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

I wish I could give you my recommendation, but I have not had enough time to read all the reviews on the 7900 series cards nor have I had the chance to price them out. I'll look over the situation and try and get back to you tomorrow or something :)
