Default DX10 cards

I don't see pixel pipelines listed in DX10 cards specs. Has the pixel pipeline disappeared or is there something new?

The newer cards seem to be reducing the number pixel pipelines for ROP's (Render Output Unit). See HERE for the ROP specification for the 8600 and 8500 cards.

I don't know the actual specifics of the arcitechture (try reading about all this "unified" stuff with nVIdia's 8 series cards), but that's what I've gathered about it all so far.

Joker, here's another wealth of information about the new way the Unified Shaders handle multiple duties for graphics processing. I had to write a paper about this subject for one of my classes a few months back. Very interesting reading for the alpha-geek.
