Default DX10 card?

So evidently some people might have gotten their hands on a prototype for the new G80 from nvidia.

LOL exagerated power compsumption. And specs, too. 1.4ghz is no GDDR4.
I think it's a scam, a few users brought up point on the second page of the thread you linked.

-Nvidia logo
-Core speed
-Transistor process to fit 700M of them
-Ram speculations (speed, size, type)
-2 power connectors
-Out of the box water cooling for cooling design
It's just to unreal to be a G80 IMO. Looks much of a dual GPU card, some kind of Quadro monster than anything else.

Edit: Oh something else, the fact they got the card in pieces but didn't bother to scratch the thin layer of thermal paste and take a picture of the core itself. =P

1.4GHz base with 2.8GHz DDR would be abour right for GDDR4 ;)

Intel bumped the PCI-E x16 spec to supply upto 300 watts of power. There must have been a reason why they did that And with previous spec leakings. The x8800GT will have an air cooling and the GTX will use a hybrid air/water cooler

Not sure, but I *THINK* dont quote me on this is that intel is discontinuing all further improvements to BTX because of C2D

They are, which doesn't prove me wrong in any way. It's not because Intel (or whatever other market leading company) changes something that it is really necessary.

LOL I don't think anyone except Intel really thought it was necessary, see useful. But yeah, ain't suprised either. Good thing they bought that other company technology for their Core Duo, else we would see another overpriced room heater :P

Ok, back on topic....

I can't really say for certain if those specs and pictures are legit, but if G80 cards are anything near that monstrosity, I am NOT excited at all...
