Comp Freezes (should i update the driver?)

when i boguht this computer a few months ago, back in November it was fine playing the games liek FEAR and Call of Duty 2....but ever since i tried to install Oblivion, it didnt let me eve start the game. When i had uninstalled it. If i were to play the other games i used to play like FEAR. My computer freezes like almos close to 10 minutes when i'm playing the game. if its another game lik COD2 same thing. what is the problem? please help :'(

Double check the Add/Remove programs selection in the Control Panel and make sure that Oblivion is actually uninstalled (that it does not appear in the list of programs). You could also try running a registry cleaner of some kind to make sure there aren't any remnants of the game still left deep inside the OS.

If the problems still persists, you could try updating the video driver, but I am skeptical if that will make a difference (worth a try though I guess). You could also try installing the game again, then uninstalling it to see if maybe it did a better job of removing the components.

This freezing problem only started after Oblivion was removed?
