BFG Geforce 7800GS OC adventures

I bought this card so I could enjoy my favorite game on my PC.. So far it isn't working out like I'd planned...
Now its onto a higher wattage PSU with 26Amp, +12v .(min. req. 400watt @ 20A on +12)
My 400watt PSU only has 17amp on +12.

I'm getting some weird flashes on the game screens and on the post game screens..

I even brought in a new hdd as to be rid of all ATI..(fresh install of XP pro)

Still does it! I have a OCZ 52012U on the way from Newegg. Time will tell.

What PSU did you have before? That's a bummer the card is being a punk. I'm sure the Powerstream 520W will do you fine though!

Never seen the temp above 53Â°C yet!

Current PSU is A+GPB 400watt. I know its not a good indicater, but the +12volt never goes under 12.23 volts/ (software monitoring)

OCZ is a Mod Stream 520 watt, should be here Friday...

It acts up, under clocked, stock clock and OC...

Other things I've tried:
A diff. monitor.
Removed my rheo. for my HS's fan.(was real close to card)
Reseated the card and cleaned the contacts.
Updated the chipset drivers on the mobo.
Checked IRQ's (USB 1 is using same IRQ as Vcard.)

Update:
I installed the OCZ PSU this evening...

SOS..(same old symptoms) :cry:

I'll take the card back, and get an exchange tomarrow.. As per BFG support!

Sounds like a plan. You've prettymuch exhausted all other possibilities. The only logical answer left is that the card is messed. Bummer man :(

Got the replacement card yesterday, S.O.S.

Tried everything I could think of, still S.O.S.

I had to set my system back to performance defaults to get the card to work, Flawlessly.

Bummer!

Oh well!

Stupid question, but did you try reinstalling the driver? Maybe try a different driver?
At least you can still get flawless performance out of it at some kind of setting! :?

Drivers never made any diff. on the weird flashes..

I'll bump my OC back up alittle at a time and see what happens, when I have time!

I'v been messing with this issue for a couple of weeks now... Time to enjoy some gaming.
