looking at the scores, I wonder if that is not actually a 8800GTS or GTX, not a real 9600GT.... hard to tell since the numbers in their picture look photoshopped...

well we could believe [H] to see their 9800GX2 lol. Nah i think this is real, and the testing numbers are pretty in line with what i'd expect.

it doesn't look that great as the numbers are within a few percentage points of a lower performance 8800GS which really isn't saying much... will be nice to see some real benchmarks in the near future (can I call dibs yet Rich? )

Looks like this is the original article. That HardSpell.com appears to have blatantly stolen those pics from PCOnline (you can see their watermark in them all). There are much more benchmarks in the original too.

I think the 9600GT is most likely going to be a mainstream part, replacing the GeForce 8600 series, not the performance mainstream and high-end parts of the GeForce 8800 series. But it does appear to keep up with (and usually beat) the HD3850, which is great news. Especially since there are likely be higher-end parts coming out soon afterwards. I'm holding out for a 9800GT!

Unless this 9800 blows me away, i dont think i'll be gettin involved in the 9000 series right now. the GX2 is intriguing, but it'll probably be MSRP 600 which im not payin 250 stepup for lol

I suspect the higher end 9800 first releases will be seeing close to $1000
