| I have a large dilema. Its either the 7600gt for 130 or the 7900gs ko for 200. Dollar values are in Canadian. Both of these cards will be bought from eVGA, because i like their support. Since my 6600gt can no longer serve me anymore, its time to move on. I think my card actaully gets worse and worse everyday, as I can no longer play any graphic intensive game without getting like 17fps in cs-s. Before, it was "playable" but annoying. Its been about 2 weeks since i started facing this problem. Whats the difference in gpu power and energy consumption etc. I really don't want to spend much money, but if the 7900gs ko is that much better, i'll fork out the extra 70 bucks. I know that the 7900gs has alot of overclocking headroom, so thats a plus, but i'm still unsure if i want to spend that much money or not. | Silence..Or I kill you! | Well to begin with, you are saying that you don't want to spend the 200 for the 7900, so if I were you I would go with the 7600gt!!! They are an awesome card for the money man! I just don't think that the extra money is worth it for the 7900. I had a post asking pretty much the same question when I was building this system, and pretty much everyone said the same thing! Look at the reviews on the main web site and read the XFX 7600gt review. Also notice that in most of the recommendations that you will find, that the gt series of cards are almost always above the gs series of cards! In my opinion, save the 70 bucks and go with the 7600gt!!! |

| Colonel Calamity | neither, ATi X1950 Pro... runs about $200-220 US but If I had to say of the choices you gave.. the 7900 would be worth the extra $$ for gaming as a gamer I have learned that the extra bit is typically better fore the long run ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. Last edited by screwballl; November 30th, 2006 at 18:36. |

EDIT: however, if the performance gain is minimal, i would definitely choose the 7600gt. Also, i just remember, the x1950pro oced, can't compete with a 7900gs oced. Although on stock, the x1950 is better. | T-Rex | Again, it depends on how long you'll keep it. Personally, when R600 goes out I say bye to my X1900XT, but that's just me. If you're not planning on purchasing another video card soon, you might want to spend a bit more and get the 7900GS KO. |

| well, either way, i don't plan on upgrading my pc often, i don't like spending too much money on it. I've given it some thought, the only games i play CS:S, and mmos. They aren't really graphic intensive. The only other game i concider playing would be crysis. I think i'll lean toward the 7600gt. Can anyone help me find Benches though? I can't seem to find any.
