7600 GS agp problems

Hey guys I only just joined but I've been having a few graphics problems with my new 7600 Gs Agp graphics card it been getting a few thin lines appearing only with games but it not overly major I felt the card it to me seemed like it was overheating and I have made sure it was up to date with it System specs so if anyone has had this problem or knows about please tell me

The symptoms you are describing are indeed probably due to overheating. It is important you seize the consequences if you continue playing games in those conditions, you could damage the card permanently.
First, is there a fan on your 7600 GS? If there's one, the first thing would be to check if it turns properly.
If it turns properly, I would check the overall temperature of your system. Depending on your case configuration, hot air might get trapped under your video card which would give you those results.
Other than that, check that the video card is properly inserted. Sometimes if it's only just a bit out of the slot it can make lines. Just push it to be sure it's correctly in.

it looks like overheating. try carefully removing the cooler and reapplying the thermal paste (clean the GPU with alcohol and use arctic silver 5 for best results). try to improve your cases airflow. it overheats during games because that's when the card switches to 3D from 2D and gets stressed to the max. improving your cases cooling and the cooling of particular components like: CPU, VGA card, North bridge and south bridge is vital to the stability and longevity of your components/computer...

well its also have discoloration in games such as F.E.A.R and COD2 where a simple bit of landscape would go multicolor on me

Your problem also sounds like it could be driver issues. Make sure you have the most up to date drivers, and if you do then I would suggest rolling back and see if the problem still exist.

Have you checked your card's temperature(s)?

- START menu
- Control Panel
- Appearance and Themes (or Display, if in the Classical view)
- Display
- Settings tab
- Advanced button
- Geforce 7600GS tab
- In the left hand column, click on Temperature Settings

well there has been a few times when It caused it to go a to a bluse screen of death and it has a graphixs message saying its dumping memory.
