Default 6600gt SLI vs. x800

I'm just wondering. Which one performs better?

Which X800 is this? Pro, XL, GT, GTO, GTO2, XL 512mb. There are lots of flavours of this cup of coffee.

gto.

Edit: another curious thought. How about a x850XT vs a 7800gt stock.

The 7800GT.
All of the X8## cards do not support smart shader 3.0. This means that in future games, your card will suffer.

how much were you looking to spend on the other 6600GT? because a 7600GT is only abour $40 more or so. you would be better off with that instead of SLI'd 6600GT's or an X800GTO

TAKE A LOOK HERE its only $206 CA (canadian dollars :P ) which is about $40 more than the 6600GTs. i almost used newegg but i remembered your in vancouver

true but like tyreal said you would be losing SM 3.0 capabilities. ill have to look up some 7600GT benchies but i think its faster than the entire 6XXX series.

I'll take some time today and run a few benchmarks comparing the 7600GT, 7800GT, and X850XT and post the results here.
What if I used those three cards in my review of the 7600GT also?

would it be possible to include an X1800GTO? i think that would be a fair matchup with the 7600GT
