| from what I understand the standard drivers should work... never heard of custom different drivers for mobile platforms (except such as Geforce Go)... ForceWare Release 163 ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. | ||||||||||||||

| Yeah, after looking at nVidia's website, I don't see any option for an 8600M GT and the GeForce GO series only go up to the 7 Series GPUs. Try the straight 8600GT driver and see how it goes, but make sure you download it for the correct operating system. The one screwballl linked you to is the Windows XP driver. If you just got this laptop, it probably has a 32-bit version of Windows Vista, which would require this driver. But if you have Windows Vista 64-bit, you will need this driver. | ||||||||||||||

| laptop2go takes the nvidia drivers and supplies modded INF to install them. I use it on my dv9500T that carries a 8600GS with no problems. | ||||||||||||||

| wouldn't be the notebook as much as the 8600GT. They all use the nvidia driver, its just you need a modified inf to enable those drivers to be installed. | ||||||||||||||
