| Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100214SR Radeon HD 2900PRO 1GB 512-bit GDDR4 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail Check it out, an underclocked 2900XT complete with 1GB of GDDR4 memory for $329.99. I don't know about you guys, but at that price it's a steal considering you can most likely bump the clocks back up to XT speeds. Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100212SR Radeon HD 2900PRO 512MB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail 512mb variant for $269.99. According to this review, the HIS Pro is right under the XT in performance; beating out the 8800GTS 320mb at stock clocks. HIS Radeon HD 2900 PRO 512MB Early Test :: TweakTown Since its a good bet you can get this baby up to stock XT clocks or higher, looks like we finally have something to give the 8800GTS a run for its money. I'm quite impressed with AMD this time around, looks to be the performance bang for buck especially if you can get it past stock XT clocks. Judging by this, the 2900GT is going to dominate the mid-range market. | ||||||||||||||

| tom's hardware also rates this over the 8800gts. ah well i personally have bad experiences with ATI and their whole scale image bug. perfectly happy with my 8800gts =) but this card does look like the most bang for your buck | ||||||||||||||

| Not bad at all, but I think it still produced more heat and requires more power than the 8800GTS. I'm curious to see how the 2900GT performs if they actually let it out of the cage. Otherwise, I'll be waiting for their 55nm GPU die shrink when heat and power specs are (hopefully) a little better. But if you are in the market for a new GPU today that will play games maxed out on your 22" LCD, then that 2900Pro is hard to beat. | ||||||||||||||

| Ooooh! I think I'll ask for the 2900PRO for Christmas... ![]() I think the biggest problem with these cards will be the power requirements, like Blake said. I read an article about the 2900XT, and it said it used as much power as an 8800Ultra... ![]() Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 | DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL | 2GB G.Skill 800MHz | EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB | Silverstone Decathlon 650W | Western Digital 250GB SATA II | ||||||||||||||

| I found a review on the 2900XT which is suppose to be above the pro i think Overclock3D.Net :: Review :: Sapphire HD 2900 XT :: Introduction, packaging, package and specification dunno how reliable people think this reviewer is, but from what he shows it does perform better than the GTS but it should be in the class of the GTX which it doesn't match up with. | ||||||||||||||

| There are actually many reviews of the HD 2900XT around, that card has been available for a while now. I think the order of performance ranking goes like this (best at top): 2900XT 2900Pro 2900GT 2600XT . . . | ||||||||||||||

"A while" though? It just got out 1 week and 2 days ago lol! 26th of september 2007 is the release date of the HD2900 Pro. It didn't arrive yet in Canada, actually. :P Edit: The HD2900 GT is being released on Halloween, from what i've heard. ![]() If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power.
