Default Yay! I got a new motherboard!

OK, so I finally found a buyer for my ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus, on a different forum. So I proceeded to buy myself a DFI Blood Iron! OK, wait, you may be thinking I just downgraded motherboards; but that is not the case.
  1. The DFI Blood Iron uses the "new" P35 chipset, which I feel is better for non-SLI applications than 650i boards.
  2. I have read that the P35 chipset overclocks very well.
  3. I have also read that the Blood Iron does very well with dual-core CPU's but not so much quad-cores. Perfect for my E4300, but not so much for future upgrades.
I'll keep you guys posted, and pics will definitely come! Also a new sig is in order...

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 + Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL + Thermalright HR-05 IFX
2GB G.Skill 800MHz F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
Silverstone Decathlon 650W
Western Digital 250GB SATA II

Personally, I would've dumped the money towards a 8800GT. But woot for you! :)

Let us know how it turns out ... kinda a personal review of likes and dislikes. I just pieced together 2 new systems ... one on the IP35 Pro by Abit ... [LoveIt!] And one on the GA DS4 Rev 2 Gigabyte [LoveIt a bit less]

Was looking at the BloodIron [Top 5 board contenders] but passed due to features not what I needed [I think no Esata, hot Northbridge and low review stats.]

But I would like to know how the bios is for you and the strap and OC with Voltages etc and temps with OC .... Plus if it has Bios controlled Fan speed based on Voltage and temps.

Mini-Review please

PS- You'll be liquid w/Northbridge right?

Alright, I'll try to do a little review on it...

I mostly picked this board because of it's crazy OCing potential...:dontknow:

Oh, I didn't know you let your Asus go. In that case, here's some more woot!

Yeah, I'm researching for a good overclocking mobo for a QuadCore now. P35 just doesn't seem to be getting it for a lot of Quad jumpers.

I've just gotten my EVGA 680i mobo approved for RMA to a T1 board. I had the AR version which sucks ass for overclocking the Quads. Evidently, Quads overclock very well on the new T1's.

*Shameless plug for EVGA to follow*

My original mobo was destroyed in the tornado. But a buddy of mine wanted to go in a different direction and sold me his for cheap. Same as my board, just different S/N. EVGA still is cross shipping me a new T1 for this AR since I had one registered with them anyway. EVGA customer services still kicks ass!

I think it's mostly because of the 4-phase vregs overheating. (on the Blood Iron at least):dontknow:
