With all the talk going around about Intel's upcoming Bloomfield desktop processor, many enthusiasts are anxious to know more about the next-generation Intel processors which are slated to be launched in Q4 of 2008. We queried Intel about this earlier today. While they refused to comment on the details, they did say that the launch of the Bloomfield processor and X58 Express chipset are on cue for Q4, 2008.

In fact, it appears that motherboard companies like Foxconn have already started preparing for the launch. We were able to obtain some details of the upcoming Foxconn X58 Renaissance motherboard, including this picture:

Man I can't wait for X5x to hit the streets, picking one up and a nice new quad-core.

On-board SAS, that is excellent!

Yeah, and 99% of these are just mockups that dont work at that.

Its funny to go to Computex and CES and see motherboards that you can't touch and can't photograph because they are "secret"....well, not really secret, they don't want you to touch them because they will fall apart, and they don't want you to photograph them because there are huge flaws in the layout.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Yuppers! See that AsusTek? Seems...weak. CompuTex always felt like the motherboard Isle at Fry's. But you could find the parts that fell off if you looked around longer though.

That's sorta why IDF came about, or at least got a little stronger of a push from the floor. We got great feedback from having working models, and never minded poking and prodding from those attending. Heck, that was even our own chance to finally see other department's working items. Had about 3 days to get something together. Best time of the year IMO...felt like the county fair. Ever register for those? The one drawback is that it's in San Fran
