Question What is the best mobo for dual CPUs?

What in your opinion is the best motherboard for dual CPUs? I'm looking at putting my own hosting PC together in the future, and want some opinions to consider. If you post a link to a board, please let it be a vendor that ships to Canada or is in Canada.

TIA,
WhiteEagle

He said Dual CPUs not Dual core. What CPUs are you thinking about getting, that makes a big diffrence on what MoBo you get.

By far one of the best dual cpu motherboards on the market for the last decade has been Tyan!!!

The make all of the medium to large server boards. But beware, unless you find a good one, like hitman did, on ebay you are going to pay a premium price for there products.

Damn, I misread. He's talking about Dual CPUs, haha! I'm dumb.

HAHA, that's what I thought too and I was ready to post like what you did until I read a little further

Wish I could give you some advice, but I don't know squat about dual CPU setups...

The most important question up front should be, what type of server duties are you expecting to use this for?

If all you want to do is host files, have a game server or two, there's really no need to go with the expense of a dual CPU, ECC Ram using setup.

I'm looking at Intel Woodcrest, since they currently outperform AMD Opterons.

It's going to be a full-blown work server and webpage server. I know it isn't the safest set-up, but for start-up, it's the best option right now.

It'll be folding for my F@H team - team 52482.

Then I'll second the Tyan Boards. Expensive, but so is everything when setting up a server.

Tyan has been making server boards for longer than I can remember. I've not read much about them lately though, but from what I do know, it's the board to go with.

I will Third Tyan. They are the way to go for server class MoBos, but you better have some deep pockets.
