I am looking at building a new system and I am torn between 2 650i motherboards. MSI P6N-SLI Platinum ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus I am aware that the ASUS is more expensive. Both have solid capacitors and I don't really care that the MSI has x8 and x8 in SLI as apposed to x16 and x16 with the ASUS. Any suggestions and constuctive criticism is appreciated.

| Colonel Calamity | I second this, I have had nothing but good luck with Asus for many years although I have never used those particular boards ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. |

Do you have any recommendations for the rest of the system? I am on a tight budget of $<900.

E6300, 2GB of solid DDR2-667 (or higher) ram, like a good OCZ set, OCZ GameXStream 600W, Seagate 7200.10 250GB or 320GB, a nice mid-range NZXT, or ANTEC, or ThermalTake case, LG LightScribe DVD Burner 18x (if you'll NEVER use it, then get a regular 18x), aannndddd you're done. ...oh wait a video card... hmm 7600GT? depends on the type of user you are. it would help if we knew.. thanks!

What about the Asus P5N-E SLI board? It's inexpensive and gets very good reviews.

the P5N-E doesn't have a southbridge heatsink and I've heard it doen't overclock well. Plus it doesn't have all solid-capacitors.
