Default Searching for mATX MB (754)

I am looking for a mATX MB (754). It can be with an AGP or PCIe as I have an extra vid card of each type. I have 2x 512MB PC3200 sticks to toss in it as well. OCing friendliness is not necessary. I will be using a AMD64 3000+ (754) in it. It will also have 2 SATA HDDs.

I really dont want to spend more than $50 but I am willing to stretch it to around $60 with shipping if the extra $10 will be for a significantly higher performing MB.

Remember it needs to be a micro ATX board.

Here is what have been looking at so far:

$48 Biostar (AGP) Newegg.com - BIOSTAR K8M800-M7A Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

$55 Gigabyte (PCIe) Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-K8N51GMF-RH Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

My search continues...

Well it will temporarily be for my HTPC. But I want a mATX MB handy, that I can use for some basic testing also.

I currently have a ASrock Combo-Z with all those components in my HTPC right now (with an AGP card).

I figured even though I going for a budget MB, I have had good luck with gigabyte and biostar MBs, but I MAY still try to stay clear of the ECS and PC Chips (and other similar type) MBs.

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

If it were me, I'd look at boards based on the GeForce 6100 chipset. More specifically, peeking at what's available on Newegg, I'd pick up the Gigabyte you linked...

May i ask, what two videocards you have? If one of the two are better, i'd go with the better one. However, i'm leaning towards the gigabyte one.

I always liked ECS 761GX-M754, for a cheap 754 board. Build/built alot of Semprons on it.

I have a fx5200 (agp) and 6600gt (PCIe). 6600GT wins it hands down but either would be fine. I currently run the 5200 on the ASrock board and it does all I need just fine.

yea since you already have the 5200 in a comp that runs, get the gigabyte and call it good since agp is like so two years ago
