BOOO! The contest doesn't work if you click cancel to not sign up for the newsletter (I am already subscribed).

In other news though, has anyone heard about the little joint venture between Gigabyte and Asus??

Damn I hope I remember to sign-up a week from sunday. I've never had a gigabyte board but I've heard good things about them. Bad things too come to think of it.

LOL, some people love them, some people refer to them as Gigapoop.
I've personally had good luck with their boards, while never the best O/Cing options, they have always been stable and feature rich

I have a Gigabyte board. Rich is right about it not being good for overclocking. I can't get my 3700 past 2.3 Ghz . The onboard audio died on me too. Other than that, it's been good to me. So I'm not stating an opinion; just take that for what it is. :)

I have had several Gigabyte boards, GA-7vax, GA-7vaxp, GA-7N400pro, and pro2's. Most all of them have been exellent boards, with the exception of the vax board. As Cap stated, they really are not a very good OCing board, but they are, for the most part, very realiable, and stable mobo's The GA-7N400pro series of boards use the nforce 2 chip set, and are kind of a pain when it comes to brands, and configuration of the RAM. Of course there were a lot of companies that had this same problem with the nforce 2 chipsets.

I suppose if I was to rate Gigabyte's older boards, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate them about 7.5 or so, mainly because of the stability of there products.

Glad to see Gigabytes new 965\975 boards are a success in enthusiast eyes. Overclockers in particular are loving the DS3 and DQ6.

In a matter of like 2-3 days I will be finished reviewing the DS3. Wait and see what this board can do.

I read on the MPC forums that the North Bridge temps on Gigabyte boards are often the culprit of their crappy overclocking success. Hopefully the Zalman chipset cooler Rich sent me will fix that problem :)
