| Will hopefully be firing up my new build this Saturday and have some questions on Drivers for the P5B Deluxe as I've heard of problems with some of the drivers - JMicron, etc. Should I use the driver disc that came with my mobo or should I download them from Asus or Intel? This is my 1st build and I'd really like things to go as smooth as possible so figured asking questions first might help avoid stress when the moment of truth arrives. Thanks

| After installing windows and getting a net connection, I would go to ASUS' site and download the latest drivers for your motherboard (LAN, sound, etc.). Then go to evga's site and download the latest nVidia drivers. Also, WELCOME TO HARDWARELOGIC! Where all your wildest dreams will come true! | I'm Diggin it! | Since you obviously have the means to do so now, I would go to the Asus website and download the mobo drivers. They are almost always newer on the website than what you will get on the disc. Go to the nVidia website for the video card drivers. eVGA just links you over there any way. Make sure you do a final connections check just prior to applying power. Also, when you first turn on your new rig, do a check of all the fans. You'll quickly discover any that aren't working and save yourself some frustration if they aren't. | Yes you can. You can put the drivers on any removeable storage. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| Ok - got the Nvidea Forceware drivers on a disc and am now on Intels site to get the 965 chipset drivers. There's like 17 different downloads and I don't know which I need so I could use a hand. I'd post a link to the Intel download page but I don't seem to have enough posts on this site to be allowed to do it. I can PM the link (hopefully) to someone if they want to try & help. BTW - can I put all the drivers on one CD or should I keep them separate - Nvidia, Asus, Intel, etc? Also, does it matter whether the download is a compressed folder? Sorry for all the dumb questions but I'm new to this

| I'm Diggin it! | Go to this link, enter your OS and download away. I always make a CD with detailed folders on it. So I'd make a Folder on my desktop called Desktop-Tom. Then I would make a sub-folder called Asus P5B Deluxe. Then, I would make subfolders for graphics, sound, and so on. The only things I would put in the Asus folder would be chipset drivers, RAID drivers and so on that relates to the mobo only. Under Video, I would put the nVidia driver, etc... You only want to download one version of each driver. The newest version is the one you want. There may be 17 drivers, but 6 of them are probably the same driver, just different dates as they've been improved and updated. | Flock It Not knowing what I'm really doing, I'll probably screw something up trying to do all that and end up pissing off my friend who will be helping me tomorrow. Will just use what drivers came with my stuff, hope for the best and then update if i have to.

| Got my system up and running! CPU is idling at 29C stock and everything seems ok except I have no sound at all. Speakers are just a 2.1 setup with two fronts and a sub - plugged the fronts into the green plug and the sub into the orange. Anyone have a clue as to whats wrong? There's a slight possibility it might be a mobo problem as Newegg sold me a mobo that has a different serial # from what's on the box. May be someones defective RMA that slipped back into the warehouse. They are shipping me out a hopefully new & sealed replacement 2nd day air as they wanted this one back.
