Question P5B Deluxe Bios won't run

Hello... I should introduce myself first before I barge into the forums demanding help for my problems...lol

Hello all!!! I've been skimming through these fine forums tonight and everyone here seems really cool and helpful..!!

Here's my problem...
I just put together a system:
P5B Deluxe
ATI RAD X 1650Pro 512
2x1gig Corsair mem
etc..

Now, when I try to kick start the comp, the BIOS won't even run!! It's probably something stupid like a bad connection, but I wanted to know if there might be something more to it.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Hope to hear from someone soon....

wow, thats even wierder than the problems with the p5b deluxe that i bought, i think it may be something thats not seated right, if its not that try unplugging stuff until you find the problem, failing that just take it back to wherever you bought it from, thats what i did when mine died.

I actually brought it down to MOBO + Vid Card + Mem and it still didnt run BIOS.

I used to get 1 long beep and 2 short beeps (video errors) but thats fixed.. I'm not sure if that could have an impact on BIOS not running.

Wanna hear another wierd problem (nothing to do with the mobo issue above). My DVD-ROM will run only when it's not connected to the MOBO. What I mean is, if the IDE cable is connected... then it won't open/close. If its disconnected, then it will open and close normaly... I find that extremely wierd.

Strip everything, keep only mobo, cpu, psu, video and ram.

Remove one stick of ram. Check if it works.
If it doesn't work, replace the stick with the other. Test.
Check to see everything is properly connected. Reset the CMOS too, with the jumper.

The psu that im using is Codegen 500W. As far as taking out the mem sticks 1 by 1, I tried that last night and it didnt work.

The more and more I try to get this to work, the more I think it's my video card. When I turn the comp on the light on the monitor stays yellow and doesn't change to green. Which can mean that it's connected to something but there's no information being passed through.

Is there a video power connector on the mobo? for the P5B Deluxe? In the manual for the vid card, it says multiple times to connect the power for the card. I have yet to see a power connector for the vid card.

Alrighty... I figured it out. I probably should have mentioned this before... the EATX 12V connector was causing issues with my vid card. Now it works perfectly. I'm going to try and load windows to see how it goes.

Ill let you guys know how it goes!

Thanks to everyone to replied!!

Click the image to open in full size.

I gave this board to Captain Crunch a few months back, but I think there is a 3-pin FDD style connector above the top PCI-E x16 slot.
