Download CPU-Z and turn to the motherboard tab.

  1. Open Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Information. Here you will find System Summary on the left and its contents on the right. Find the BIOS Version option and your BIOS flash version displayed.
  2. You can also scan the registry for this information. When Windows loads, it stores the main computer BIOS and video BIOS following information under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWAR\EDESCRIPTION\System registry subkey: SystemBiosDate
    SystemBiosVersion
    VideoBiosDate
    VideoBiosVersion

Can I update the BIOS by just going into the BIOS area? There are 4 updates since the last and some could mess my pc up if I do 1 thing wrong.Seems if I could just go into BIOS and click on update, would make a dummies job much easier.

You need to download the BIOS from the DFI website (The Diamond Flash Image version is the easiest). Get a blank floppy and run the executable that you just downloaded. Then restart and boot from the floppy and the BIOS will automatically update (you just need to hit F1 for it). All done.

You can probably use Winflash too, it's a very easy little app for flashing the BIOS within Windows.

flashing from a floppy I believe requires them to be formatted as DOS bootable and have room for the BIOS file as well as the BIOS flashing utility.

Check out this thread here for some information on the motherboard and BIOS's. HERE is the official download site from DFI for the Blood Iron.
