Default mobo/cpu suggestions?

I am amost ready to get my new system. I just need to decide in a mobo and a cpu. My ideas are:

MSI P6N SLI Platinum and Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

-OR-

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 and Intel Pentium D 915

Please look at the link before posting anything.

THANK!!!!!

you need to base it on whether you will be going SLI or not... if not then the DS3 is a damn good stable board... but I would definitely stick with at least the E4300/6300 CPUs as the PentiumD series is not worth it.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

if you arent gonna use SLI, and have the budget, go for the P5B or P5B Deluxe. yea Deluxe has SLI, but its 4x mode with 2 cards and isn't worth it, but its one of the (if not the) best C2D board aside from the 680i boards. thats why i got it.

that gigabyte, though, is amazing, don't kid yourself.

and DEFINITELY 1000000000000000% C2D!

enjoy.

I heard the Gigabyte overclocks really well.....

Does anybody know if the MSI overclocks good? Since I'm not running SLI should I go with the Gigabyte?

as an owner of 1, I am 100% happy with my DS3 (which is tough for someone picky like me)
